Hey everyone,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!!!!
I hope you have a fantastic birthday. Love you so much!
This week was pretty
sweet. We celebrated the 4th of July Sunday night. We grilled our
steaks and had watermelon with rice and mashed potatoes. Then we topped
it off with a pot oven cake. Super good. Today Elder V. and I made
cookies with the same pot oven. Really good.
This week was pretty
good. Wednesday it rained all day which was a little discouraging.
I personally LOVE proselyting in the rain but I am about the only
missionary that likes that. We were able to get out and do some good
teaching. We are focusing on teaching with members and are having some
good experiences with that. We had our 2 baptisms on Saturday. It
was a great baptism. Really great service. I really enjoyed it.
Brother B. is one of my most favorite investigators I have had the privilege
to teach.
Monday night last week we
had a really powerful lesson with a new guy. He is really cool. We
just went there and taught him the first lesson and it was super spiritual.
He was feeling it and I could tell so I asked him how he was feeling and
he said "touched, moved, transformed." Really cool guy.
He was busy the rest of the week so we haven't been able to meet him
again but we are really hoping to get him this week.
I have really been trying
to feel the Spirit more in my life. That isn’t always easy but I have
really been trying to change that. We've been praying pretty hard for the
Spirit and this week we had a lot of cool experiences. On Thursday we had
a member proselyte with us all day because he is preparing for mission and we
were walking down the street and I see one guy’s head over a compound wall and
our eyes met and I knew we needed to talk to him. We went over and he was
like I always see you guys are round and I really want to know what you are doing.
We had a great 1st lesson with him and he was saying all the right
things. Unfortunately he doesn't live in our area but we referred him to
the other missionaries and hopefully they are following up on that one.
That one was really powerful.
Friday I was asked to do
and exchange with another district so I went and spent the night in Mataheko
district. I was with one of my MTC mates. It was pretty cool.
Kind of spoiled our 4th plans but it opened new windows because they have
this restaurant in their area called zoozoos that makes good burgers so we went
there for lunch.
Tuesday was a national
holiday so we hosted our missionary versus ward football match.
Unfortunately it rained that day so hardly any members showed up but we
had some come and them a lot of people from the roadside came to play with us.
Mostly kids but we are planting seeds.
Sunday night was pretty
crazy. I was on exchanges last week with Elder J. We contacted one cool guy and he came to Church
yesterday and went home and his girl friend had kicked him out of the house. I
guess the missionaries went there with him and things were getting thrown thenI
got there with a member and his wife. They sat down and there was lots of
yelling and all of it was in Gaa (another language somehow similar to Twi) but
we got her to give him his clothes back so now he is free.
Welp, time is up and time
to get back to the missionary fun! Love
you all,
Elder Clark
