Just like
that another month is gone. They sure do go by too fast. One of my favorite
parts of this week was with a man we were teaching. He is an old man that is
blind. Unfortunately he doesn't have any interest in the Church but we were teaching
him and I was talking when he
interrupted and said, "You know you sound like a white man." I guess
there is only so much you can do to sound native. Can't hide it completely. I
do try though. I busted up laughing
though. I hadn't thought about it but
the man had seen me as a Ghanaian and was thinking I was one. Pretty cool.
Things went
well this week. I went on exchanges with one guy in the district. He is still being
trained and is from South Africa. He is Zulu and his name has a click in
it. Really cool guy.
I got the best FHE idea a while back from one missionary. He's gone home by now but it was to take a deck of playing cards and turn them into playing cards by cutting out the pictures from the pamphlets and gluing them on. Man, that game is so popular. Every person I have played it with has asked where they can buy it. They all ask if I will make them a deck. Good people and members.
The members support us now 100%. We finally got our request and had the auxiliary leaders at our coordination meeting yesterday and it was so good. They were really excited to get us involved in Home and Visiting teaching. The 1st counselor announced that we have been cleaning the chapel on Saturday and how impressed they are with us. One member told me about how much they talk about us in PEC and how happy they are. We are even working on a project to get the basketball hoop put back up so we can hold a tournament. We also challenged the young men to a soccer tournament against the missionaries. We've got the support, now we are just trying to turn that into teaching with us. I can easily see this place baptizing 8 a month or so by August. It's going to start exploding soon. Pretty sweet.
We had a pretty busy week. Did a ton of finding. I feel like sometimes I see the most miracles there.
We had one cool experience with an investigator. He’s 22ish and we went to teach him one night at about 8pm and it started raining so the lesson didn't happen and we were just talking with him in this little provisions shop we were hiding in and eventually I turned to conversation to the gospel and he told me that he prayed and he really received his answer and knows that the Church is true. Now just to get him to the Church.
